Working at FreshAddress: Meet Joel Carela, Client Support Specialist

Joel (pronounced “Jo-ell”) is a Washington D.C. native and a graduate from The College of William and Mary. He started his career in the nonprofit sector working for the National Park Service and the Latin American Youth Center. After relocating to Boston in October, he joined the FreshAddress team as a Client Support Specialist. He’s hit the ground running, managing projects and providing stellar service to FreshAddress’s clients.

JC2 HeadshotQ: What is your professional background?

During and after my undergraduate career at the College of William and Mary, my professional background has been rooted primarily in the arts. I have taught photography courses and also co-lead a youth arts and nature summer program, in conjunction with the National Park Service.

Q: What’s your favorite part about your role at FreshAddress?

My favorite part about my role at FreshAddress would be how dynamic it is. First thing in the morning I may be responding to emails or returning projects. However, the day can quickly shift to problem-solving meetings or a conference call with an interesting client.

Q: What are some things you enjoy when you’re not thinking about work?

I love thinking about solutions for transportation or reading about a distant planet via a sci-fi novel, or just having a nice cup of coffee.

Working at FreshAddress: Meet Sunil Shinde, Automated Services Support Specialist

Sunil comes to FreshAddress with over 6 years of IT and customer service experience. He also holds a Masters Degree in Information Technology from Southern New Hampshire University. Sunil has a diverse technical background and most recently served as a Business Analyst for Sonicsoft. At FreshAddress, his role focuses on providing support to clients utilizing our automated services. These include Automated SafetoSend, Auomated Append and List Guard.

Q: What is your professional background?

I’ve worked as an IT and business professional for over 6 years. Thus far, my work has spanned a variety of industries. These include marketing and advertising, healthcare, banking,  and tourism and hospitality.

Q: What’s your favorite part about your role at FreshAddress?

I love being able to interact with such a diverse group of people. From our clients to my co-workers in IT, development, accounting, and sales & marketing, I’m exposed to every facet of the business on a daily basis.

Q: What are some things you enjoy when you’re not thinking about work?

Biking & traveling to explore new things.
