The 10th Annual Bridge Conference in National Harbor, MD was a success!
The sold out exhibit hall was abuzz with some of the leading players in the non-profit world. Quite interestingly, FreshAddress was one of the few vendors at the show offering email database solutions as an alternative to direct mail. There were countless sessions offered outside of the exhibition hall. Many of them offered tips on optimizing and growing donor programs using critical factors, including paths to success (and pitfalls along the way). One of my favorite sessions touched on the pillars of an online planned giving communication strategy, and how to integrate with offline communication.
The conference wrapped up with a brilliant talk by keynote speaker Adam Braun, CEO and Founder of Pencils of Promise who challenged attendees to “change your words to change your worth” and urged us to shift the way we view and speak about the world of fundraising from “non-profit” to ‘for-purpose”.
Did I mention crabs? I ate enough crab cakes in National Harbor to last a lifetime and, needless to say, they were delicious! At night, the streets of the vibrant downtown area were bustling with activity. People were out in droves, enjoying the many great restaurants, shops, street entertainers, and tourist attractions. Quite definitely, “the Awakening” sculpture at National Harbor, and the Capitol Wheel overlooking the Potomac River give the area it’s own unique ambiance.
FreshAddress had a great time at this year’s Bridge to Integrated Marketing & Fundraising Conference and made tons of new connections. We can’t wait to return next year!
